California Coastline Engagement Shoot in Sausalito California.
It was the forth of July and man was there FIREWORKS! My sister and her husband lived in the same court as my fiancé did and everyone was getting together for a big block party to celebrate. I don’t think we left each other’s side the entire night. There was no denying the chemistry. It was insane! I had butterflies that lasted long after that first night.
We get each other. He is a police sergeant and I work in the emergency department. We are lucky that we can share and really understand how the other is feeling. Crazy schedules, crazier stories. We have another special bond of both being coaches and highly competitive! He coaches football for the high school and also coaches an all-star travel softball team. I helped start an all-star cheerleading program in our town and have coached cheerleading for many years. We love helping kids learn new skills in sports and help them develop skills for life. In both our jobs and how we spend our free time we just get it. We can fully understand so many aspects of each other’s lives. I think that’s rare nowadays.
I can’t say that there was an exact moment that I knew he was the one but I guess what made it ‘click’ was when I started to think about the future and then I couldn’t picture my future without him. Everything I pictured I wanted in my life he was part of it in some way or another. My parents have been married for almost 46 years and they have set a standard I never even thought I would come close to. The way they treat and take care of each other is something I knew I always wanted for my marriage. My fiancé is that man. We have that relationship. In 46 years I hope our children say the same things about our marriage. I couldn’t be more excited to call him mine for the rest of my life.
It was a perfect surprisingly warm day in February. He asked if I wanted to go get lunch by the beach. The beach is my favorite place so without any hesitation I was all over that idea. We went to a restaurant right on the beach with huge glass windows. The food was amazing and the view was incredible. After we finished lunch we went down for a walk on the beach. There wasn’t a single person on the beach. We stopped, sat down on some driftwood and it happened! He got down on one knee and I was in shock! I don’t even think any words came out I just jumped up threw my arms around him and cried. Im pretty sure he said something like ‘you are supposed to say something! Does this mean yes?!’ I nodded and screamed we’re engaged!!
It’s gorgeous!! Sparkles like crazy! Princess cut center stone with princess cut diamonds on the sides. My ring is my favorite thing I own in my life and means the world to me. I love what it represents and I’m so proud to wear it everyday.
We have started to plan and it’s been crazy! It’s really exciting, special and totally overwhelming! I’m trying to soak it all in. Our vision has always been a warm romantic summer night. Candle lit with string lights and tons of flowers. Amazing food, great music and the most incredible photographs to last us a lifetime!
