From the Photographer

I connected with these two through a mutual friend. They love adventure, so we headed to a spot just outside of Pitt Meadows along the mountain range. We spent a few hours wondering, and recreated their proposal.

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

Jordan went to the same university with Amanda’s sister. Her sister asked if he would be interested in her sister (Amanda). Long story short, he said yes, and he asked her to go to look at Christmas lights at Lafarge Lake together and hit it off from there!

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

What makes our relationship most special & unique:- Love going on adventures (it could be driving to the airport just to see planes take off, going to Pitt Lake to take nature photos, traveling to Whistler just for the day or trying new restaurants).- We absolutely love Alberta: one of our biggest goals is to move there as soon as we can, the first time we visited, we fell in love with the smaller cities, flat and country roads. Our dream city to settle down in is Red Deer, Alberta.

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

Amanda: Thinking back, I truly did know he was something special on the first day we met. However, I remember thinking in the moment on our second date (our real first date with just the two of us) I knew. There is really no way to describe it. I just felt safe, secure and exactly where I was meant to be. Jordan: Our first one on one date, I knew she was the one. I told her I loved her that day and we only really knew each other for about 2-3 weeks at that point. I knew I would marry her in that moment.

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

Proposal happened on the morning of August 1, 2019 in Osoyoos, British Columbia. It was just another annual trip with Amanda’s family and the first morning we were there, we went for a walk, Jordan brought his camera, he then asked Amanda to turn around as he wanted to take a picture of her facing the lake and mountain view, however, in that moment he wasn’t taking any photo, instead he was pulling out the ring and getting down on one knee. Soon enough Amanda turned around and of course said YES!Her family was hiding behind a tree near by and was able to film the whole thing and take photos. It was a surprise, although Amanda knew it was coming soon.It was planned for quite a few months, almost a year. Jordan picked up the ring in May 2019.

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

Amanda’s ring is from Michael Hill Jewelers. It came in a set, as the wedding band was included. It is a circle diamond surrounded by several smaller diamonds. The band has smaller diamonds half way down each side. The ring is White Gold.

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

We are so excited to begin planning our wedding day! We are planning to have a longer engagement (2022), as we want to complete school. We will most likely be living in Alberta when we get married, however, we plan to come back home to B.C. and celebrate our big day with our family and friends here. We are not set on any venue for certain, although, we have our eyes and heart set on Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows, B.C.
