I love the golden light and fading colors at the end of the day. It’s my favorite time to grab my camera and capture the moody, romantic filter the sunset provides! Well… it turns out, a sunrise engagement shoot has that same type of magic! Speaking of magic, it was only appropriate to have my very first sunrise engagement shoot with a couple that is as incredible as Lauren and Kyle!
I ran on 3 hours of sleep because I shot a wedding the night before. Luckily, Lauren and Kyle had enough energy for all of us! I’m so glad I agreed to do this shoot I had a blast, it was great to see how much fun they have together. They just couldn’t stop laughing! All those smiles you see in their photos? Trust me, I didn’t have to do much to make those appear, these two are so happy together!
We wandered through Austin, and I decided to change it up a little. We shot in a location where I usually don’t go to for photoshoots because it doesn’t work for sunset. However, this sunrise made this a great spot for their engagement photos. Who would have known that a sunrise engagement shoot would open up new possibilities for my photography!
Lauren walked around in her colorful yellow dress and Kyle had eyes for only her. We grabbed some good iced coffee at Merit Coffee in the Seaholm District, and marveled at how quiet the city is early in the morning! Lauren and Kyle make such an authentic and fun couple, I can’t wait for their wedding in February!
Although we ran in similar circles for years, we didn’t officially meet each other until November of 2017. Our mutual friend had invited Lauren on a trip to Croatia that Kyle was planning, and she showed up at the infamous Doc Holliday’s to see if this group of people would be tolerable for a week on a boat.We circled each other like sharks in the bar, trying to determine if the other was interested, and once we started talking, a love developed between us that would only continue to grow.
We both have a love of travel and adventure that brought us together. Our loved continued to grow through our joy of finding new recipes and cooking together. When we aren’t doing those things we support each other in our hobbies of rugby and rock climbing.
For Kyle, it was when we were on a trip in the south of France with some of my family on our way to our vacation to Croatia. It was as if Lauren was a part of my family already and I knew that she was the only one for me from that moment forward. Lauren first saw Kyle in an elevator at a friend’s party two years before they met. I admired his charisma – he spreads so much joy – and I said to myself, “That’s the kind of guy I need to date.” Two years later, I walked into a bar with my friend and there he was, the guy from the elevator!
Kyle made a plan to grab coffee with Lauren at our favorite coffee spot in the East Village in Manhattan before strolling through Tompkins Square Park on their way to brunch with friends. As they walked through the park, Kyle surprised Lauren. He paused and got down on one knee in the place that they first held hands on the night that they met.
A beautiful, classic solitaire. A delicate, full-round 18k gold band with 6 prong white gold setting.
We hit the ground running, and have made it through most of the planning with 5 months left until the wedding! We are so excited to see things coming together.
