From the Photographer

This engagement session was at The Knob in Falmouth, MA. Such a magical place for such an amazing couple. The weather was so nice on these last days of September. The location was just perfect. The Knob is pretty special place – a little hike through the woods to the beach. As you get closer you start hearing the ocean roaring. And then you see it – and it is amazing. Lauren and Rob are a very sweet couple. And they were so great to work with. My favorite part was to be able to just hang out and talk, and joke, and have the best time ever while taking fantastic photos of them.

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

We met back in 2009 in North Andover, MA at Merrimack College. We were both freshman. Girls who ended up becoming my roommates grew up with Robbie. We ran in the same circle of friends. I transferred to the University of North Carolina after Sophomore year. 5 years later we bumped into each other (literally) at bar. We started dating a month later! It’s funny, now we can talk about the fact that there was a mutual interest and attraction years ago but we never acted on it. Glad life had other plans for us!

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

I think what makes our relationship special is the more I get to know him the more I fall in love with him. I didn’t learn everything about him and who he really was overnight, it took time. We’ve both grown a lot, as individuals and as a couple. I appreciate that he knows me so well and can read me quite easily. We both are very family oriented which is important. We also enjoy traveling together and exploring new places.

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

I’m not sure there was an exact moment. Even in the early stages of the relationship Robbie seemed very sure. I didn’t think I was in a place to be in a serious relationship. His confidence and support made me feel so secure it just was very natural. I just knew I didn’t want anything to end!

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

We got engaged in the Boston Public Gardens. It was certainly a surprise, his nerves almost gave him up by the end! He had a photographer there to capture the moment. We celebrated privately then when I thought the evening was over we went to one of our favorite bars and our friends surprised us – it couldn’t have been better!

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

Robbie picked out the ring entirely on his own! I absolutely love and couldn’t be happier.

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

We just booked our venue and date! 11/28/2020 at the Pine Hill in Plymouth, MA. We knew we wanted the fall season.
