I showed up to this session in less than conventional clothing…it was cold, it had snowed… I came prepared. When I first met Melissa and David they probably thought I was crazy! I met them with 2 pairs of pants on + snow pants, 2 shirts, a sweatshirt, a warm jacket, a snowboarding shell, gloves, hat, scarf and boots. First off, I was not built for the cold, but I knew I would need the extra gear regardless. We shot their beautiful engagement session at Dillon Lake in Colorado and the snow was 1.5 feet deep and it was 15 degrees. I knew I’d end up trekking off the trail and laying in the snow banks to get the perfect angle… I was right! These two were such troopers, you’d have no idea they were freezing! Not only are they GORGEOUS, but the way they interacted got me so excited for their wedding In Buena Vista this summer. They were genuine, comfortable, happy and carefree. Their laughter was contagious and so real. It was impossible to get a bad photo of them! To top it off, they brought their big furry dog! He blended right in with the snow! Watching them all interact made me want more BYOD (bring your own dog) sessions in my book. Shortly after we walked around the lake area for a bit, we headed up to Sapphire Point in Breckenridge; a super famous location in our state. For good reason! The view of Dillon lake from above, all those trees and the gorgeous mountain landscape… it is what dreams are made of. Melissa and David left me giddy to get home and look at all the images! Such a sweet duo, and I am so lucky to have them as a Marquise Photography 2020 couple!
