Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

We first met in the small town of Monroeville, AL where I was currently coaching softball and he was coaching baseball at the local community college. He was walking down the hallway with the other baseball coach and we were introduced. I had been there for a year before he was hired. He would always pop his head into my office with a huge smile and ask questions. I joke with him now because he is kind of a charmer; but, he would wink at me while he was talking.

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

I love that we both are interested in sports and are super competitive. When we get bored around the house we will play Scrabble, Rummy, or Yahtzee and it gets very intense. I think some of our favorite moments together are when me, him and my 90 pound dog are all cuddled up together just hanging out. I also love that he loves me enough to try adventurous food. He is very much a creature of habit and always seems to try new things when I ask so it makes it fun.

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

I knew there was definitely something about him when we first started hanging out because I found so much peace when he would smile. I just felt calm and joy being in his presence. What really makes me believe in our relationship though is his constant patience and willingness to love me, even when I can be closed off. He forces me out of my comfort zone and makes me communicate about things that I would normally just let go and I think that has allowed us to grow together.

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

The proposal was awesome!! His mom and stepdad live right on the bay and have a beautiful backyard. I have always told him I wanted my family to be there for the moment. Leading up to the engagement his parents were putting in all of these updates for seating and lights. I just thought they were making improvements and did not think anything of it. Well a few weeks later (we live about four hours from his moms) we were headed back in to town and Trent told me were meeting his friends for dinner. Well I HATE traveling in anything not comfortable so the whole way to his moms he kept bugging me to change into my dress for dinner. I was like “why can’t I change at your moms?” he gave me some excuse and I just knew something was up. I started to just stare at him to see if he would crack and he didn’t. He was cool as a cucumber. I started to get excited but was not sure until he pulled straight to the backyard. We got out of the car and the whole desk was lit up with candles and a picture of us. Our families were hiding inside. He dropped to his knee and I said yes!! Then I had to remind him to put my ring on!! It was perfect!!

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

My ring is amazing. It is designed by A. Jaffe and is an opal center stone with a halo. I get so many compliments and blush every single time!

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

Our wedding day is going to take place at Pensacola Country Club and I am super excited. The view for the ceremony will be beautiful because it overlooks Pensacola Bay. The food tasting went perfect. We are both food lovers so that was important. We have our cake picked out but we do have a few more details to tie down over the next few months! It is a little overwhelming but I think it is going to be the best day I have experienced so far.
