From the Photographer

This was such a fun engagement shoot. Nicole and Jay are so sweet and they love each other so much. It shows in all of the photos. When I was ending these photos I kept smiling. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding this coming August.

Nicole and Jay met when both of them were out dancing with friends. He came up to her and asked to dance. They spent the rest of the night dancing away together. They talked on the phone for about 2 weeks before their first date. For their first date, Nicole and Jay went out for drinks and apps. And they just kept changing the restaurant to keep the night going. It was like they knew each other their whole lives. And best of all, they laughed the entire date. After that of course they wanted to go out again. 7 years go by being together. He puts the ring in one of their daughter’s plastic Easter eggs and had her give it to Nicole to open. She was completely surprised!

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

We were both out with friends for the night and he approached me on the dance floor. We danced all night and the rest is history. We talked for a while on the phone before setting up our first real date.

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

We make time for each other and children. We have old school family values and know that family comes first. We both work hard inside and outside of the household as well to keep a stable life together.

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

I think we both knew pretty early. When we met it was like we knew one another our whole lives, we were completely comfortable from the start.

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

It was a complete surprise, although he was acting funny all week. It was Easter morning and the kids were opening their baskets and plastic eggs after their hunt. He had our daughter hand me this HUGE plastic egg to open which had the ring in it. I closed it fast and looked up at him and started to cry. Then opened it again just to make sure it was real.

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

It’s a beautiful three stone ring with an antique look to it.

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

Already done! Rustic Cape cod Charm.
