Reid and Rachel were engaged in early March where I captured the surprise proposal set in a romantic wooded riverfront location. We then scheduled their formal engagement session in downtown Baltimore, MD. We shot in waterfront locations, downtown bustling locations, and cobble stoned side streets. Their love for each other is seen so clearly in these photos! Their wedding is set for next May, 2020.
We met through a friend of a friend. We were both at the same holiday party and even though we had know of each other before, this was the first time we really talked to each other. We started talking and couldn’t stop! I ended up leaving my phone at his apartment that night, and he wrote a nice little note on it when I came to pick it up the next day. He asked me to meet him at Starbucks one day soon and his number. How cute???
We really love our Sunday’s together. Because Reid is a Police Officer, we only spend every other weekend together, but when we do, we always start our Sunday off with church. Then we usually go to the grocery store and buy all the things I will need for the week and he helps me meal prep. He knows that this day is so important for me to have a good and stress free week! We also like to do things outside like go hiking or sit at the local beach!
I knew Reid was the one after he would give up his plans to help me when I needed it most. He would fight for me when I needed direction and hes not afraid to show how much he cares for me in front of others. Reid also shares my same beliefs about the world and our faith. We are both not scared to try new things and step out in our relationship to make ourselves stronger! He is always my biggest supporter.
It was a complete surprise. When we first met, he had started to build this deck down the back of his parents house that overlooked the river. I went down there a few times while it was just framing. Then the weather changed and we didn’t go down there. Life got busy and I kinda forgot about that cute little deck, but Reid didn’t. once he decided that I was the one for him, he worked diligently to finish by the time he wanted to propose. I thought we were going to his parents house to celebrate his mother’s birthday. The night before, he mentioned that the deck was done and at his mom’s birthday party he wanted to escape for a few minutes to go look at it! I thought nothing of it! When we were walking down the hill, I was so nervous about falling down the rough terrain that I hardly noticed the deck until we were right next to it. All the many months of wondering if we would ever be engaged came to a halt and my breath was completely taken away! We stood on the deck and he grabbed both of my hands and looked into my eyes and said… its’s all here, are you ready???
My ring is from Meritage Jewelers! Reid knew a buddy that worked there and actually designed the ring himself! We went there in November to look at rings and I never found one that I fell in love with. I knew that I wanted a three stone ring and a thin band, but not much else! Reid used those parameters to craft the absolute most beautiful ring ever! Thin band with stones half way around. large focal stone with two small ones on the side. Under the focal stone, there is a very small diamond that is set sideways so you can see it.
We have already dived into planning our special day! It will be at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum on May 2, 2020. We are having a big country wedding inside the barn at the park. We have booked most of the large ticket vendors, and are so excited for our special day to be here!
