Andrew and I met around three and half years ago. We met on Tinder of all places! Neither of us were really sure what would come from using this app, but we now joke that he “swiped” me off my feet (how cheesy, I know!). I was a first year teacher, and Andrew was finishing his last year of school at USF. When we matched on Tinder, the first thing I noticed was that Andrew played acoustic guitar. He complimented me right away on my eyes, and we quickly realized that we shared many of the same interests and that we both wanted to travel to Ireland one day. We eventually agreed to grab dinner and drinks so that we could meet each other in person. The night of the first date, it was raining extremely hard outside. I have never been a fan of driving, let alone in such nasty weather, and I considered asking if we could reschedule for another day. The rain was making me run a few minutes late, and I was so relieved when Andrew called to tell me he was going to be a little late as well (anyone who knows us knows that we are ALWAYS running just a few minutes late!). I walked into the bar first, drenched from the rain, and he walked in behind me just a moment later with that smile of his. The rest is history!
Andrew had recently returned from a two week trip to Australia that he went on for work. We had been wanting to go to one of our favorites restaurants on Clearwater beach, and finally made plans to go one Saturday evening after a day of running errands. One of our favorite things to do is to walk the beach while watching the sunset together, so we decided to take a stroll before getting dinner. Andrew seemed unusually upset about the fact that it had turned into a cloudy and windy evening. After a bit of walking, he asked if I wanted a picture by the water and asked a woman who was sitting with her husband and children if she would mind taking one. At this point, I was definitely suspicious, because Andrew is not one to initiate a photo-op! He put his arm around me for a picture, and the next thing I knew he was holding my hands and proposing to me. The woman taking our pictures was so surprised and excited to see what was happening and I just loved the fact that it was otherwise just the two of us on a secluded part of the beach. My absolute favorite part of this story, is that after I said YES and we got a couple of pictures together- the clouds simply disappeared, revealing the most beautiful sunset that either of us have EVER seen. We got to sit in the sand and watch the sun go down together, and it was everything I ever dreamed it would be.
Rebecca: I love Andrew’s dimples (!) and his kind and genuine soul. He is the nicest, most selfless person, and would do just about anything for the people that he cares about. The way he looks at me just melts my heart, and every single day together has been full of laughter at some point or another. I love how passionate he is about his work and his hobbies, and I just can’t believe how similar we are to one another.
Andrew: I love that we have the same sense of humor and that we are always laughing together. Rebecca is a genuinely kind person with integrity. She is very giving and has an insane work ethic. Her eyes and her smile were the very first things I noticed about her, and I absolutely love how quick and witty she can be!
We both work long hours throughout the week, so we are always perfectly content curled up on the couch watching TV together with our pups. We also like being outside, and everyone knows that Andrew especially enjoys going out to eat! We also really love going on cruises and traveling together, and both of us share a love of watching college football.
This album tells the story of us. When we first started dating, Dunedin was a place that we would often go for dinner and drinks by the water. These pictures capture our genuine love for one another alongside our fur babies who have been with us since the very beginning.
