Location | Rockledge Park

Ryndi and Billy Got engaged in the hillsides of Switzerland on a trip together. We did their engagement session at Rockledge Park in Grapevine, Tx following a week of heavy storms. The location was almost completely flooded and the streets and trails were inaccessible. We managed to find an off beaten path to get to a little beach area. It wasn’t what we had planned but we made due with what we had. Ryndi and Billy brought both the fun and the heat to the session. They got in the water and even crashed a few times due to the waves. After it was said and done, they planned to go to dinner afterwards in the same attire. Talk about an adventurous couple!

Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

We met back in 2008 when we both worked at Chili’s Restaurant. At the end of my shift one night (Billy was shift manager) he asked me to restock the ice cream. About 15 minutes later I walked to the freezer to find the surprise of him waiting in there LOL he pulled me in and we had our first kiss! The rest is history 🙂

What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. What makes your relationship unique?

When we were first really getting to know each other 11 years ago, we put the pieces of our stories together and realized we had actually been skating together at 11-12 years old! We both went to the same skate park and skated around the same neighborhood. Fast forward to today and we have shared so many experiences together, we have traveled all over the world, we run a company together and we are sharing our experiences with our two beautiful children. We constantly push and motivate each other to reach our dreams and goals! We are both very passionate about self-growth, positivity, motivation, and constantly learning together. We are working together to create a life-by-design and teaching our children the same thing!

How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship?

He will tell you he knew from the very beginning. He had dreamed of me as a kid and knew that once he met me that I’d be in his life for the rest of forever. For me, it was when we took our very first trip together. It was to Jamaica and traveling can always be stressful. We both learned so much about each other on that trip, we laughed, we talked about our dreams, we cried together, we had so many experiences together on that one trip that I will never forget. He gave me a “promise” ring at dinner one night and I knew in that moment that I’d be spending the rest of my life with this person! (and, we can travel together without ripping each other’s face off… that’s a big deal! LOL)

Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

The proposal was MAGIC. He had been planning a trip to Switzerland for the both of us for MONTHS without me knowing. I found out a few weeks before the trip & was ecstatic. We have some friends in Switzerland and they coordinated everything. When we arrived, we got cleaned up for dinner and immediately headed out to the mountains. We were on top of this mountain with the beautiful Snow Top mountains in the background and overlooking the lake. We had a picnic blanket, a basket of fruit, cheese & crackers, and a bottle of champagne. As I stepped out to soak in the beautiful view – he snuck up behind me with the ring and got down on one knee 🙂 (during his proposal he even mentioned..”if we can get through TSA together.. we can do ANYTHING together! *see Q3* LOL)

We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

My ring is PERFECT. It’s Rose Gold square diamond. I drooled over it one day while walking through the mall and it’s the one he surprised me with!

Are you excited to start planning your wedding day? Do you have any ideas in mind yet?

SO excited!!! I have a dream of a small wedding in a barn on some land. Very intimate and special. We are planning on a huge honeymoon and traveling somewhere to another country.
