The whole vibe of Shelby and Mike’s engagement shoot is exactly what we wanted. Chill relaxed time with occasional moments of just sitting back and watching surfers casually longboard in from the point break. We can’t wait to shoot their wedding later this year.
Mike and I met in college at the University of San Diego, though we didn’t start dating until a couple weeks before graduation. Fast forward five plus years, and we’re engaged!
I think what makes our relationship work so well is that we both genuinely love spending time together whatever it is we are doing, whether I be grocery shopping, going to the beach, or grabbing drinks with friends. We just have more fun when we’re together.
I knew Mike was the one when I realized that not only do I like who he is out in the world, but also who he is within the confines of our home when there are no outside pressures to influence the way we act.
Mike proposed when we were both in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was there for work, and I decided to tag along so I could see my family who still lives there. He was in touch with my parents and older brothers trying to figure out a good spot to do it. We were walking to dinner downtown along the canal, and that’s where he popped the question! I was very surprised and very, very happy.
The ring is perfect. It’s a solitaire radiant-cut diamond with a thin white gold band.
We are getting married in San Diego in September 2020! We are so excited and planning has been so much fun.
