Patrick and Ariel are a match made in heaven. When scouting places to do the engagement shoot, Patrick suggested the Philadelphia Museum of Art as the couple reside right next to the museum and frequent the luscious grounds often. Patrick and Ariel are the ultimate fairytale with a grand proposal in Florence, Italy, so I knew that I wanted to create big, bold epic imagery emphasizing the iconic nature of the Art Museum and incorporate background elements of the Philadelphia skyline.
The images I wanted to be a mix of epic, iconic imagery to emphasize the grandeur of the location and the tender emotion between the couple. The story of their proposal is magical to say the least. “We went to Italy for a 2 week vacation. Right before we left, I made him promise not to propose (I didn’t want him to feel like he had to propose just because we were in Italy). We had an amazing trip and on our last night – in Florence, where I studied abroad – he proposed while we watched the sun set. It was perfect.” The ring itself is custom designed. Ariel worked with a jewelry designer to combine a new diamond and two baguettes from a ring of her great grandmothers. According to Ariel: “I absolutely love it and wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
Patrick and Ariel are planning to wed in 2020.
