Aside from a baseball field where Matt proposed, this local vineyard holds a very special place in these high school sweetheart’s hearts. Matt and his family live just down the way from Huber’s Orchard & Winery and they shared a wonderful meal together there just before he proposed. They’ve decided to also have their wedding at Huber’s and engagement photos!
Haifa and Matt currently live in Georgia, so they decided to schedule engagement photos for a weekend they would already be in town. (The drive from Georgia to Indiana isn’t a fun one) Sadly though, the most convenient weekend for them was a black out weekend for Huber’s, meaning they weren’t scheduling photo sessions of any kind. Luckily, Huber’s coordinator was very understanding of Haifa & Matt’s situation and made an exception for them, allowing us to come do engagement photos. The downside (to me) was they were only able to offer us a 11am to 1pm time slot. Anyone who knows anything about photos knows that is the worse time to shoot. However, I was pleased Huber’s made an exception for us to come shoot so I took the high noon, harsh light as a challenge. I could not be more pleased with how these images turned out!
My fiancé and I met in high school when I was a sophomore and he was a junior. We talked for the very first time at one of our high schools baseball games.
We are very determined people. We know what we want in life and we push each other every day to get there. We believe in each other and will do anything to help each other succeed. I knew my partner was the one when he left for college while I was still in high school and nothing changed in our relationship. We visited each other when possible and it was as if nothing changed. I knew no matter what we had to go through from that point forward, we would be okay.
Matthew and I moved to Georgia so I could attend chiropractic school. Last Thanksgiving, we drove home to be with family for the holiday. One of the days that we were home, we went to eat at Huber Winery and then he took me to the baseball field at our high school to the spot where we talked for the very first time and asked me to marry him. It was such a sweet and meaningful surprise. It was the best day of my life!
My ring is AMAZING!! It is an oval diamond with a halo around the center and a diamond band.
We have started planning our wedding already! We are having our wedding at Huber Winery on June 29, 2019. I hope the year flies by!
