Between the classic estate, antique barn and enchanted forest, Gathering Grace Farms provided the perfect setting for an elegant, yet sweet styled wedding. The farm’s greenery kept the feel of the shoot homely, while the styled bride was the epitome of elegance. The handmade jewelry, lace details, and a drool worthy cake made this styled wedding a dream to shoot. The best part of it all? The ivy-covered forest. Located just steps away from the estate, in the farm’s backyard! Complete with walking trails and hanging lanterns, it was truly dream-like.

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?

When Gathering Grace Farms approached me, M. Laine Photography, about photographing a styled wedding at their new venue, I loved the idea. They described the estate as French Country in style so we decided to keep that as the theme of the shoot. I wanted to emphasize the elegance and homely feeling French Country style can have and designed the shoot with this in mind.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?

Our colors were powder blue and white, which were accented throughout the day from the bride’s aquamarine engagement ring to the hydrangea and rose bouquet. I felt that the blue colors lent a sweet feeling to the shoot while the white provided touches of elegance.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

Chloe, the wedding planner from Chloe Nicole Weddings, designed the reception sweetheart table with elegance in mind. The powder blue table runner, French Country plates and milk white vases all added to this look while the unsymmetrical layout of vases gave off a friendly feel.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

Chloe and I wanted our bride to look elegant, but sweet and homely at the same time. I thought Chloe chose the perfect lace mermaid dress from Enchanted Bridal to achieve this look. Our hair and makeup artist, Elizabeth White Artistry, nailed the easy going, but classic look with our bride’s hair half up and light, natural makeup.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

I was most excited to shoot in the forest. Ivy covered the forest floor and crawled up the trees in a magical way. The scene looked like it came straight from a fairy tale.
