We met almost 8 years ago through a mutual friend on Facebook. The connection was instantaneous, we fell in love and have been together ever since. We met December 18, 2010.
It was one day after our 6th anniversary, on one of the coldest days of the year. Martin’s parents were visiting from Azerbijan (where they were living and working at the time). Amit took Martin and his parents (who had already been clued in) to Bow Bridge in Central Park (which was where one of Amit and Martin’s very first dates took place), Amit got down on one knee and proposed in the center of Bow Bridge. He had hired a photographer to capture the moments leading up to the proposal as well as the proposal itself.
Our fondest moment of the wedding was the same for both of us. It was being escorted down the aisle by our entire family, receiving their blessing to get married to each other.
We live in a penthouse condo on the Jersey City Waterfront. Amit is a physician specializing in Hematology and Oncology and holds various administrative positions at his hospital, Jersey City Medical Center. Martin just graduated from his MBA program here in NYC at the top of his class. He currently works for Barneys New York and is looking for a more complimentary position with regards to his recently obtained MBA.
Literally all of them. Every single person/company we hired did a phenomenal job bringing our vision to fruition. It was truly our dream wedding; it was actually above and beyond anything our imaginations could have every dreamed of.
Make sure you have an incredible wedding planner with an expert team behind them. You may think it’s too expensive to hire a full-service wedding planner but trust us, it’s worth every single penny. In fact, just hire Sonal Shah and you’ll be perfectly fine.
