Becca and Mike had an elegant and formal wedding day at the St. Charles Convention Center in Missouri. It was a rainy day in September, but their love and joy was overflowing! I loved the burgundy red bridesmaids dresses, Becca’s classic white bouquet, and the elegance of their ballroom reception, which was decorated with the most beautiful and romantic flowers in shades of reds, gold, navy, & blush. Their wedding cake was also amazing!

From the Bride

How did you two meet?

I became very good friends with Mike’s brother, Tommy. He was working at Express, a store I shop at often, and through my purchases we developed a friendship. One evening he asked if I would be interested in dating his brother who had just moved back from Kansas. Me, being an MU alum, was hesitate and asked why Kansas? Tommy then informed me Mike had just graduated from KU. For that reason, I told him I was not interested and left it at that. One week later I was invited out to brunch with Tommy and some of his friends. To my surprise he also invited Mike. He strategically sat us next to each other at the table and we hit it off. The rest is history . Tell me about the “spark!” When did you know that he/she was the “one?”

On our second date Mike cooked me dinner at his place. Steak and mashed potatoes (from scratch). He burned his wrist and some of his face cooking the steak. I tried so hard not to laugh. Mike demonstrated he would go great lengths to make me happy, even if it meant washing, peeling, and mashing 4 golden Yukon potatoes and burning himself in the process.
