Our wedding theme was a simple but elegant style. I incorporated a lot of diamonds, white floral arrangements and classic colors like gold, champagne, white and black into our wedding. Most of my ideas came from many Pinterest boards based on my color palette: gold, champagne, white & black. From the gold votives, sequin gold table clothes and runners, black table clothes and napkins, and white lilies in the centerpieces, I tried to make sure I stuck to a simple, yet elegant theme. We had many DIY aspects being that I went with a very simple decor style. We bought acrylic signs and paint pens for the Jenga sign in table, favors and please take one signage. The centerpieces at the reception were bought on amazon and put together by our mothers and myself, and included faux diamonds on the tables and in the cylinders as well.

Due to allergies I used artificial flowers, but I wanted them to look/ feel real. We bought rubber & real touch white calla lilies for the bouquets, corsages, and boutonnières and added jewel aspects to make them pop. The centerpieces included white lilies with small jewels in 3 vases of different heights. The vases at the ceremony included bomarolan orchids mixed with phalaenopsis orchids. I used white petals around the cake and sweetheart table to stick with the white floral them.

My Mother-in-Law bought personalized water bottle labels from Etsy and pie guests had 8oz water bottles at the ceremony. She also bought little boxes of groom suits and bridal dresses for our favors which contained chocolate that had personalized candy wrappers on each piece of candy. My favorite part of the wedding was seeing everyone at Top Golf enjoy themselves. Vince and I aren’t big dancers ourselves, so we wanted to add in a different aspect that would guarantee all ages would have fun and wouldn’t be bored. Top Golf was the perfect balance because it allowed people to try something new, golfing, and enjoy some good music. I bought my dress 2 months before we got engaged because I had a clue it would happen by our anniversary. I based my hairstyle off of my dress and the detail in the back. I didn’t want hair coving the beautiful detail, so I had it swiped to the side with curls and a braid to match my bridesmaids’ hairstyles. I went with gold shoes, which I had a pair in my closet I’d never worn and small earrings, one being my something borrowed, from my mom. My veil was a mixture of something old and new, the old being my mom’s wedding veil from 1990 (which my grandmother made for her) and the new being the cathedral portion of the veil. Vincent wore classic white and black colors for his tuxedo. He dawned a white Calvin Klein tuxedo jacket and a black vest and bow tie with black pants and shoes. The bridesmaids wore champagne colored halter dresses with champagne heels from David’s Bridal, and the groomsmen wore all black Calvin Klein tuxedos with a champagne vest, tie, and pocket square.

Vince and I met in high school on the bus, because we lived around the corner from each other. He was in 10th grade and I was in 8th, but we didn’t say much to each other. At the end of my 9th grade year, I broke up with my boyfriend and Vince started talking to me on MySpace (this was 2008), and we started dating in July of that year. We both went to college in Atlanta, moved in together, then moved to Jacksonville for a job opportunity for him and then boom… (fast forward to June 2019). We went to Las Vegas for his mother’s 50th birthday and one of our excursions was to go to the Grand Canyon. We had just taken a picture and as I started walking back to get my bag, he grabbed my hand and said “Babe come here” so I thought we were about to take another picture. Instead, he grabbed both my hands and said “Brandee Nicole Craig you know I love you right” and I instantly started crying because I knew where he was going. He continued his speech and asked me to marry him and I obviously said Yes! The most special moment of the day was when I walked down the aisle and saw Vince standing there and he had cut all his hair off! He’s had long hair since before I met him, and I’ve wanted him to cut it since year 2-3 of our relationship! So that was a huge moment of anticipation for the both of us.

Advice: Our advice would be to pick multiple vendors for each category, narrow it down to 2-3, then talk to them to see who’s the best fit. If you don’t hire a wedding planner, hire a day of coordinator so you, nor your family, has to stress on that day. Also, don’t people please… you’ll drive yourself crazy. Lastly, on your wedding day make sure you relax and let your planner take over so you can enjoy your wedding day.
