From the Photographer

The wedding planning process is a beautiful journey and it’s different for every couple. Marty and Chelsea had a very specific vision for their intimate Justine’s Secret House wedding from the moment they first started talking about getting married. They wanted it to be intimate and soulful, focused on their favorite things in life: good food, good drinks, good music, beautiful spaces, close friends and family, and each other. Guys, let me tell you – they nailed it. Their wedding turned out to be exactly as they had pictured.

They chose their wedding venue – Justine’s Secret House – because they had shared dozens of lovely meals there and over time, the aesthetic, menu, and the general vibe had become a big part of who they were as a couple. They chose to have an intimate, family-only ceremony and a relaxed seated dinner before 70 of their close friends joined them for a cocktail party.

One of my personal favorite parts of the day was when Chelsea surprised Marty during dinner and sat down at the piano, serenading her with her favorite song: 10 Million Miles by Patty Griffin, which Marty had put on the very first of eight CDs and playlists she had made for Chelsea thus far. It was beautiful to watch the love, not only between this stunning couple but also the love between their closest friends and family. You could see it on their faces – pride, joy, delight, and so much love for this couple.

When asked if she had any wedding planning advice she’d like to share with other couples, Chelsea said, “The day does indeed go by in the blink of an eye, so make sure you build in enough time to take everything in and have a few quiet moments with each other.” Sound advice. This couple did just that and I had the privilege of being able to capture so many of those special moments!
