Well, Christy and Dwayne spent their childhood in the same neighborhood without ever knowing their soulmate was living just 5 blocks away. The two finally met at Maplewood Swim Club where they both had summer jobs, but Dwayne could barely get 2 words out of Christy. He would try to be funny or charming, but all he would ever get was a quiet smile in return. About a year later, after almost giving up, he wished her a Happy Birthday on Facebook. This conversation created a spark, which grew into a fire, and as they say… the rest is history!

What Was The Inspiration For Your Wedding?

We are very simple people and wanted to keep the decor to a minimum, especially since our venue was stunningly beautiful and didn’t need much! Decor wise, we stayed with mostly whites and greenery since you can never go wrong with that!

We mainly stayed with the wood theme for most signs and decor to keep it on the simpler side. I always planned to DIY most of our decor but we are procrastinators and ended up waiting so late where I ended up rush ordering most through Etsy.

Our favorite parts were definitely the dancing! Our DJ who is a close friends brother did an amazing job keeping all on the dance floor. We did use donuts as a party favor which a lot of people raved about!

Let’s Talk Fashion…

I ALWAYS loved lace dresses and wanted something form fitting and something I could move in since I wanted to be comfortable! Dwayne from the beginning wanted to wear grey so I left it up to him to decide and he did a great job!

The Proposal…

The ceremony was our favorite part of the wedding day ! Walking down the aisle, we were both so nervous since we’re both very quiet, we hate being the center of attention. But during that moment like everyone says, you don’t notice anything around you but the other.
