How did you two meet?

We met in college through mutual friends and we’ve been friends since! Years later, we ran into each other again at a friends BBQ. Since our friend was wrapping up the BBQ, we decided to get drinks at a bar to continue our conversation… we talked for hours and that became the beginning of our love story 🙂

How was your wedding day?

We were originally planning on getting married in San Miguel, Mexico. We actually went to go look at venues, but then decided to have our wedding here in Chicago so that our friends and family wouldn’t have to worry about traveling. We both knew that we wanted a small intimate wedding with close friends and family so we searched for small venues as well as venues that would allow our own catering. We both love delicious food and drinks (especially tequila lol) so we wanted our guests to be able to enjoy that too! We both got ready at Hotel Allegro… I wanted to sneak down to see him a couple times but I know I wasn’t allowed to lol… but our day was beautiful, seeing all our friends and family at our church at Holy Name Cathedral was just special! For our wedding reception, Lil Epic Design did a beautiful job setting our floral romantic theme. We had so much fun and because we had a small wedding, we felt we were able to connect and have fun with everyone!

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

My favorite memory from our wedding day was getting to our church and walking down the aisle and seeing Juan’s face for the first time. All I could feel was happiness and butterflies in my stomach! We can also both say some of our other favorite moments were our dance and the garter toss (our guests will know why lol). Another favorite of mine was dancing with my dad, what started off as a slow dance finished off with a rock&roll surprise dance song with my dad. He had no idea I was going to play it, but it’s something we always danced to when I was 5 years old. Yes, we were obsessed with our flower wall and especially with our donut wall and churro cart!
