How did you two meet?

Patrick and I met while volunteering at the Mid-Hudson Valley Camp, which is a camp for special needs kids in Esopus, NY.

Tell us all about the proposal!

Patrick proposed to me in the neighborhood we live in after we went out to dinner one night. He knew if he had planned something elaborate and big I would have guessed. He totally surprised me- I was shocked! It was intimate and beautiful! We went to brunch with our families the next morning to celebrate. It was really nice!

Describe the wedding planning process. Why did you choose the vendors you worked with?

Patrick and I had a lot of fun planning the wedding. It is what you make it and we made sure to make it enjoyable! We made decisions pretty easily because we knew what we wanted. We picked Guastavino’s because we wanted a local wedding and because it is insanely beautiful! We met with Phil and just clicked with him right away. We loved his work and his personality- he made our wedding day so fun! We picked our cinematographer Justin because he had done my friend’s wedding and we loved her video! He is super talented and also really good to work with.

How was your wedding day? The more details you can provide, the better!

Our wedding day was beautiful. Everything was perfect. A 70 degree day in November – couldn’t ask for better weather. Everything ran smoothly with the plans/ vendors. I was calm (not sure how) and had a blast bumping old school jams and getting ready with my girls! I couldn’t wait to see/ talk to Patrick. I remember taking what felt like the biggest breath of my life before the church doors opened and then seeing Patrick waiting for me at the altar was just the most memorable and comforting moment. I was so ready to marry him. I just danced in my seat throughout the whole ceremony because I was so excited. Exchanging our vows was so great and I couldn’t wait to have our first kiss as husband and wife.

After our ceremony we took the party bus to Gantry Park in Long Island City (our most favorite place). We took beautiful photos and had so much fun. We arrived at our cocktail hour where I immediately got some champagne spilled on me (signs of a good time)… at least it wasn’t red wine! It was so nice saying hello to everyone. Seeing all of our family and friends in one place was impressive and so beautiful. It was literally the best day ever.

Before we knew it- it was time to walk into our reception. We walked into DMX- Ruff Ryders Anthem which was ridiculous but just so fun. We danced the entire night… and had the best time. The dance floor was filled the whole time. The music was perfect and the drinks were flowing- I’m pretty sure everyone was having a great time- our pictures prove that!

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

It is so hard to pick one moment to be our favorite from the day…we loved every second of our wedding day. Patrick’s favorite part was taking pictures in Gantry Park. We loved doing that because we were all together and everyone was laughing and having a good time. Patrick and I got to actually talk to each other for the first time that day and the first time as husband and wife. It was so fun! We also really loved dancing during the reception- so much fun being out there with everyone.

What is your advice for newly engaged couples?

Enjoy every single second- it goes so fast! Everyone says that, but it is so true. Also, don’t sweat the small stuff- all that matters is that you get to marry your favorite person!
