From the Photographer

Emily & Jeet came to me a few months before their wedding day. They were trying to pull off their dream wedding in a matter of a few months (which happened to be on the most popular wedding date of the year). The couple enjoyed their wedding day with just a few of their closest friends, a few siblings, and Emily’s parents. Unfortunately, Jeet’s mother and sister were unable to visit from India due to the pandemic and had to join via Zoom to witness Jeet & Emily’s nuptials.

The couple pulled out all the stops for their dream wedding day (even though it was much smaller than their previous plans… with about 12 people total in attendance)- beautiful venue, amazing outfits, florals, a cellist, dinner, drinks, dancing, sparklers, and group zoom calls throughout the day to include those who couldn’t be there with them. One of the most emotional and impactful part of their wedding day was when Jeet’s mother and sister joined the small group for toasts & speeches via zoom all the way from India- it was 3am their time! It was such a beautiful moment when Jeet’s family was still able to give their well wishes and tell stories about how wonderful the newly wed couple was even from all the way around the world.

One of the most striking photographs from the evening wasn’t one that was artistically composed, rather, an image of Emily, Jeet, Emily’s mother and father, and Jeet’s mother and sister – on the zoom screen behind them. Although they were able to be there in person, they made sure Emily and Jeet still felt the love from across the globe. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of love, laughter, and some tears.
