From the Photographer

Hartley Botanica is tucked away in Somis, California, sprawling over 3 acres. This gorgeous venue hosted Grace + Jason’s wedding and absolutely blew our minds! Every inch of the property looked like it was out of a fairytale. Grace agreed, “I always wanted a magical garden kind of wedding and Hartley Botanica was all that and more! It seemed a garden out of a story book. I especially loved the ceremony site, it was magical.” Jason loved how “lush and beautiful the garden was, it was like traveling to another location far from the brown and dust of Los Angeles. I loved how guests could explore little nooks and crannies and I appreciated the small details of the venue. It’s such a special location, very unique and definitely not your average hotel/reception hall.”

Grace + Jason’s wedding ceremony was so special, but my favorite part was the Paebaek ceremony that followed. This traditional Korean event was such a cool experience! Everyone was laughing, especially when Jason had to carry Grace on his back as far as he could to symbolize how big their future yard would be.We snuck out during sunset and crossed the highway to the orchard, which was one of Grace’s favorite moments of the day. It was probably the only few moments they had alone together! Jason’s favorite moment was their first dance (which was SO perfect). “I had so many nerves, but it was really awesome to have our family and friends all watch us do a dance that we practiced over and over again.”

The reception was a PARTY, everyone got down on the dance floor. Jason gave everyone a run for their money with his dance moves! Between the gelato truck and the late night tacos, there wasn’t a single guest that went home hungry. It truly was an unforgettable night! I asked these two what their advice for couples planning their wedding and Grace’s answer made me smile!! “Hire Tayler as your photographer. Our family loved the photos! Also, make sure you hire a wedding planner. It is such a big help.” Jason’s advice is to “start early, have a system and hire a planner. Also, your photographer should be in my opinion one of the most important decisions you make for the wedding, as I think after it is all said and done that really all you have left are photos and videos. Document your sexy at least once before that dad bod hits.” LOL!!
