Matt & Grace had a rainy wedding day, but that didn’t stop them from having the best time! The love these two have for one another is apparent in these photos! The venue had so many unique spaces, it made for a gorgeous indoor venue. I loved that Matt + Grace had so many options on where to hold their ceremony (that was supposed to take place outside). This venue had an industrial/boho feel to it and it was a gorgeous and cozy day!

Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?

The inspiration behind the wedding was all surrounded by the dusty blue color. I love that romantic feel for a wedding so candles on candles with pops of color. We went with ‘the less is more’ mindset. We focused on a few key items, such as the ladder above the sweetheart table, the guestbook table and desserts. We are pretty nontraditional so we didn’t do a bouquet toss, dollar dance or a cake cutting. We focused on just wanting to have fun and dance the night away with our friends and family.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?

Greenery, candles and simplicity because the space had so much character and we didn’t want to take away from that.

What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

We didn’t have flowers. We did a lot of greenery with pieces of blue thistle and little white flowers. We wanted everything to look romantic. My dad also put together all the terrariums which were just amazing.

Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

The day was very personalized… all the broaches on the bouquets were all my favorite pieces from my Grandma’s collection. Weeks before the wedding, my dad had an antique store close down for me so I could come in and try on all their beautiful jewelry. My mom gave me a handkerchief the morning of the wedding that my Grandma purchased from Ireland years before she passed away. Lastly, the night before we got married, I gave my fiance a journal and the day we got engaged, I wrote an entry every day until we got married.

Let’s talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

My look was classic, simple and unexpected. It had buttons all down the back… I loved the elegance of the front and the back was the wow factor. It cut down low with lots of sparkle. I thought it would take me forever to find the dress, but it was one of the first gowns I put on. It also wasn’t what I thought I wanted at all, but it was everything and more.

How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

We met online 🙂 He popped the question in Jamaica on the first day we got there. We were just getting ready to go down to the beach and I turned around and he was on his knee. So sweet!

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

Our first look!! I  was so excited to see him and once I did, all of my other nerves went away. Another special moment was walking into the venue and seeing everything set up… it literally took my breath away. Everything looked so magical and I was so grateful for all the hard work everyone put in to make our day perfect.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

Wedding planning advice would be to put a little number at the bottom of the RSVP cards so when you get them back without a name (which happened a lot) you can check who it is.
