From the Photographer | Heather and Garrett contacted me in 2017 to photograph their 2018 wedding in Dayton, Ohio. After working out the details and contract, we met in Columbus, Ohio to do an awesome outdoor engagement session in Columbus’ hip Arena District. The images turned out great, as Heather and Garrett were very good at posing for my camera.
The wedding day came in June 2018, and it was the hottest day of the year. We started the day at Crowne Plaza Dayton in a huge suite with 9 bridesmaids, 1 bride, 4 hair and makeup people, 2 moms, 3 flower girls, 2 other people and me. Once we were done at the hotel, we made our way to one of Dayton Ohio’s most historic venues, Memorial Hall. This wedding and reception venue was once a vibrant concert, musical, and event hall that has been lovingly taken care of by the Dayton History organization. Due to the limited amount of events there per year, there was no air-conditioning, so it was 80 degrees during the wedding.
Upon completion of the ceremony and bridal portraits, we had some fun on the party bus, took numerous photos with the Dayton skyline, and went to an awesome Dayton bar for shots. Our last stop was Dayton’s Antioch Temple (also called Antioch Shrine) next door to Memorial Hall. Note: The air-conditioning was outstanding there! Heather and Garrett rented the 2nd-floor ballroom, and the wedding reception was one of the best I’ve ever attended. Mrs. B’s Catering was exceptional as always, the DJ kept the party going, and the guests danced all night.
Just 3 days after the event, I heard from the bride’s mom. She had nothing but great things to say about the wedding and all the unique images she saw me create.
