Irene & Kelvin met through USC’s badminton team so it was a must for badminton to be incorporated into their wedding! They had a badminton net set up so their guests could enjoy the sport that brought them together. They also had an adorable badminton-themed wedding cake! This was mixed with a purple wonderland theme, set in the breathtakingly gorgeous Rosewood Sandhill in the hills of Menlo Park, California.

The day started with honoring their culture by wearing traditional Chinese wedding outfits and doing a tea ceremony to express gratitude to their parents. Kelvin even matched the purple theme by wearing a purple suit!

The ceremony overlooked a beautiful flow of hills and was filled with purple flowers. Irene & Kelvin provided program fans in case of hot weather. The ballroom was transformed into their purple wonderland, complete with the pom flower wall created by the mother of the bride. For dinner, a decadent array of food stations was served.

During toasts, the father of the bride reminisced of how this marriage came to be and noted that badminton is a good place to meet great partners so he had made sure to sign Irene’s little brother up for badminton classes at a young age. They ended the night with a choreographed first dance and everyone had fun dancing the night away with glow sticks.
