How did you two meet?

Aaron and I met at a FIDF Gala in NYC. Aaron was visiting New York for a work conference and our mutual friend convinced him to go to the gala I was also attending… our friend introduced us and we felt an immediate connection. We hung out and spoke all night. Aaron then had to fly home to Miami, but we texted everyday and he asked if he could come spend the weekend with me in NYC. I of course said yes and the rest is history!

Tell us all about the proposal!

He proposed to me at Gramercy Park on my Birthday. Both of our families were waiting inside at the restaurant Maialino in the Gramercy Park Hotel. We had brunch and celebrated with our families. Later that night, Aaron planned a surprise engagement/birthday party for all of our friends at VNYL with the help of my sister, Caroline. He rented the space out for the night and had it decorated for our engagement.

Describe the wedding planning process. Why did you choose the vendors you worked with?

I work at an event design company, Birch Event Design, so I thought the process would be a piece of cake, however it was actually a little stressful since I was my own party planner. Choosing the vendors was easy since I already had a relationship with most of them and had an idea of who I wanted to use. Overall it was a fun process and I am happy I was able to design the wedding of my dreams.

How was your wedding day? The more details you can provide, the better! Please also describe your design and decor choices. How did Birch Event Design contribute to your wedding?

My wedding day was beyond what I could have imagined. My whole team and all my vendors really pulled through for me and made my wedding more than I could have dreamed of. I always knew I wanted an all white wedding with touches of grey and gold and since I am in the industry, I had saved tons of inspiration pictures which helped me with the design. I always dreamed of getting married under a big cloud and with the help of my florists and team, my wish came true.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?

My favorite moment was the first look. I was so nervous all morning, but the second I saw Aaron, the butterflies all went away.

What is your advice for newly engaged couples?

Enjoy every moment.

How old are each of you and what are your professions?

We are both 27. Jacqueline is an Event Designer and Aaron is a Commercial Broker.
