Jennifer and Duane by all accounts should have met years before they actually did. They grew up in the same town, in the same neighborhood in Pennsylvania. They both went to the same college and had the same major. They both ended up moving to Texas to be pharmacists. It wasn’t until they both had their friends swipe right for them, that fate finally brought them together.

They decided to get married in their hometown of Pittsburgh, where the majority of both families live, but planned everything remotely. The dress, invitations and calligraphy were sourced from Dallas. The Carnegie Science Center is new to weddings, and Jen and Duane were one of the first to host their weddings at this venue. What made this venue so unique was the wrap around terrace that had the most incredible views of the Ohio River. Plus, it shares a parking lot with Heinz Field, the home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jennifer wanted a very romantic and classic vibe. EF Lighting brought in individual candles to suspend from the ceiling to mimic the twinkling night sky. It was actually Duane’s birthday, so Jennifer actually surprised her new husband with a birthday cake. But cake wasn’t all of the dessert. In Pittsburgh, it is tradition to host a cookie table. Cookies are provided by family members and close friends, and the varieties and quantity are enormous. Guests take these as favors (as well as enjoy them throughout the reception).
