It all started when Jessica and Ilhan met for brunch on a Tinder date. Jess wanted to get out of there ASAP – but a coffee, a walk around Boston’s Seaport neighborhood, and four hours later, the universe had other plans. Their relationship has taken them all over the world, from Vermont and New York City, to Mexico and South America, and eventually back to Turkey, where Ilhan is from. Oh, and did I mention they got engaged in a hot air ballon while hovering above the Rose Valley in Turkey? YA!

After enduring months of distance from Turkey to the USA and lots of heartache waiting for Ilhan to be granted citizenship during their engagement, these two are inseparable again. However, still working on the citizenship thing. #thanksamerica They decided to get married with sweeping views of the city where they fell in love – at The State Room in Boston. They combined Turkish and American wedding traditions all throughout the day, even including a crash course in Turkish on the back of the menus. Their rings were tied together with red ribbon, and were cut by Jessica’s father at the end of the ceremony to celebrate their marriage. Turkish lanterns, rich red roses, gold candelabras, and hand-painted tiles adorned the ballroom. And of course, they were joined by a vibrant belly dancer during the reception!
