Describe the proposal in a few sentences…

An intimate moment in our hotel room at Ocean Reef overlooking the water. We were there for the weekend with friends and got to celebrate all weekend long!

What did you like about your wedding location/venue/hotel?

We fell in love with the Biltmore the moment we saw it! The historic charm made it unique but that didn’t compromise the luxury and guest experience. We loved how beautifully everything was maintained and how our guests could enjoy the resort all weekend long without traveling between venues. Exceptional service and beautiful rooms also helped!

What did you like about your wedding planner?

Everything! Keith was perfect for Mark and I in every way. He saved us from a negative initial planner experience and brought the joy back in to the planning process! He’s an excellent listener, beyond creative and was positive every step of the way. He took the time to get to know us and it made a huge difference in the entire process. I wanted to be involved in some bigger decisions and I let him take the reins for the rest and the day turned out perfectly. Keith was always a positive and reassuring voice when I got stressed – even at 10pm at night! He and his team were efficient, helpful and organized during the whole weekend of events!

What did you like about your photographer?

Curtis captured our day beautifully. He was on time, organized and fun to work with.

Describe your vision/inspiration for your wedding day…

We wanted a timeless, more traditional day that had unique touches interspersed so that guests would never forget it!

What was your color scheme?

Slate blue, ivory and gold tones!

Were there any new trends that you incorporated, or did you decide to go more traditional?

Many aspects were more traditional but we had a few unique things including a custom cigar wall, wine cork messages from the guests, a close-hand magician at the cocktail hour and custom bottles of Knob Creek bourbon for guests to take home at the end of the night!

How would you describe your personal style and fashion (wedding dress/tux)?

A more traditional mermaid silhouette with lace and sparkle throughout! Mark’s tux was also classic with bow ties to match my bridesmaids dresses.

What kind of flowers did you pick for your centerpieces and bouquet? And what did you like best about your florist?

Dvine Florals was excellent. I had a vision for centerpieces with white flowers atop a tall vase that she executed perfectly! I don’t remember exactly what kind if flowers were in there but they were gorgeous.

What flavor(s) did you pick for your cake?

We had a few cake flavors in the various layers including chocolate ganache and even some carrot cake which is my husband’s favorite.

What was the most memorable moment of your reception?

Seeing the ballroom all set up before guests arrived was breathtaking – very last detail was perfect. I would also say the various speeches was the best part. I thought we had a great mix of heartfelt words and humor. Guests got an accurate glimpse into how important our family and friends are to us.

What was your favorite part of your entire wedding experience?

The whole weekend felt like a blur but hearing how much guests enjoyed their time during the wedding itself and the whole weekend made us feel like our day was special and memorable.

Where did you go for your honeymoon (location and hotel) and what made it special?

The plan was for a Mediterranean cruise but COVID-19 wrecked those plans, sadly. We don’t have anything else planned currently but hopefully we’ll be able to get a trip on the books soon!
