From the Photographer… This beautiful couple have been sweethearts for years; they tied the knot on May 5, 2018 in front of family and friends in a gorgeous ceremony on a historic Maryland property! Most of the reception was DIY and Kayla was a very hands on bride. The weather called for torrential storms all day and while we caught lots of storm clouds and passing showers, thankfully we caught a break in order to have an outdoor ceremony + beautiful outdoor portraits.

How Did The Two Of You Meet?

They met off of a random Facebook post Kayla made, asking if someone could do some work to her car. “Ivan messaged me asking if I still needed the work done. I replied “yes” and asked him how much he wanted. He said, a date and time and a 12 pack of Stella. And from that day, we have always been together”

Tell Us About Your Proposal…

“He proposed by deciding to do a random hiking trip that we’ve never done, so I knew something was up from the beginning. But, we hiked up a little bit to what he thought was going to be this stellar waterfall. It wasn’t really all that spectacular. But, it was the perfect spot to propose, so he told me to turn around, like he was going to take a picture or something. He got down on one knee and asked if he could marry his best friend and of course, I said yes”

Kayla and Ivan have a beautiful two-year old son, named Abel. Although the wedding planning was a little hectic with a young son, Kayla made it work, with the help of her two dry erase boards and a checklist.

From all of us here at TW, we wish Kayla, Ivan and Abel a lifetime of happiness!
