How We Met

Like all relationships that start in the Marina district of San Francisco, we met at the Equinox on Union Street. A few weeks before we officially met, a mutual friend (shout out to Kerrin!) told both of us separately she wanted to set us up and that we’d be perfect for each other. Unfortunately, even with this strong endorsement, Jamin never made a move, choosing instead to wait for a more “natural” meeting. Then one fateful day on October 6, 2016, Kelly was running on the treadmills at Equinox and spotted Jamin. She decided to take the initiative (like Kelly often does), and texted Kerrin telling her that if Jamin didn’t come up and introduce himself that day then she’d be done with him forever. Kerrin, not wanting this moment to slip away, gave Jamin the nudge he needed, and told him Kelly would even slow down to a walk to make herself more approachable. Even with everything served up to him on a silver platter, Jamin still waited… He finally built up the courage, threw aside the stigma of becoming yet another guy trying to meet girls at the gym, and went up to Kelly and sheepishly asked “Are you Kelly Colyar, Kerrin’s friend?” Lucky for him Kelly was so happy he finally made a move that she let him get away with such an awful first line and struck up a conversation. Somehow Jamin convinced her to go out with him the following week (our first date was Elephant Sushi in Russian Hill!). The first sushi date led to many more (our favorite place is Sushi Ran in Sausalito!), as well as quite a few “dates” running next to each other on the treadmills at Equinox (and later a half marathon together in San Francisco). Then on October 6, 2017 (exactly one year after meeting each other), Jamin planned an amazing weekend getaway trip to Nick’s Cove in Tomales Bay and asked the most important question he’ll ever ask. And she said yes!!

 The Wedding

Jamin and I were sealed in the Sacramento Temple on August 24th and we had our ring ceremony as well as reception on August 25th. The wedding theme was ‘Perfect’. Jamin and I always loved the song ‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran and knew that’s how we wanted our guests to feel at our wedding. We chose our dream location, Villa Montalvo, because it was close to home and reminded me of all my childhood memories. Our accent color was blush pink because it was Grandmother’s favorite color. She passed away the day Jamin asked me to be his forever. My husband and I’s nickname has always been love birds… we incorporated it on a beautiful white Rolls Royce. We had 9 beautiful bridesmaids, 9 handsome groomsmen, 2 flower girls and 2 ring bearers. The bridesmaids carried blush pink bouquets down the aisle, tied with a blush pink ribbon straight from Paris. Each one the wedding tables were named after places we traveled together… from The Boston Marathon to Australia for New Years. Since we were sealed in the Mormon Temple, it was important for our guests, who are not Mormon, to understand what being sealed in the Temple means. At the ring ceremony, we had my family priest explain that being married in the Temple signifies that our love is infinite and that will be together for time and eternity.
