Megan and Stephen’s wedding was defined by their love for each and the love of their family and friends. The couple had family and friends involved in every part of their special day starting with Megan’s Grandma Linda Graziano altering all the girls’ dresses. Her Grandma Eidam and Aunt Hodge made bouquets and boutonnieres with daisies and wildflowers for the wedding party, as well as all of the flower arrangements and table centerpieces for the reception. This wedding showed that marriage is a team sport, from family participation to supportive friends, everyone had fun playing their part.Megan’s cousins Sarah Meredith, Heather Kent, and Kathleen Kent helped out by doing the bridesmaids’ hair. While the ladies were getting extra lovely, the boys were…well, being boys. Until it was time for the bride and groom to enjoy a very special and private first look, followed by bride and groom photos.

After the couple’s photos, the wedding celebration continued with a traditional catholic ceremony that took place at St. Albert The Great Catholic Church.Megan and Stephen’s sweet friends Mary Richard and Dakota Davis sang and played guitar. The couple vowed their love and commitment to each other and also to their friends and family. Then the wedding party along with their immediate families stood together and prayed over them. Finally, after their first kiss as Mr. and Mrs. Barnes, everyone was invited to a reception at the Country Jewell.

At the reception, the tables were set with flower filled Mason Jars that had been lovingly decorated with the help of close family members and friends. From the cake topper depicting Mr., Mrs. and the family pup, to the string of photos documenting their adventures thus far, the reception was full of special details that described the bride and groom. A highlight of the reception was watching Megan and Stephen soulfully sing the lyrics to Grow Old by Florida Georgia Line during their first dance as husband and wife. The fun kept going with more dancing, the cake cutting, and then fun group shots (plus a guest selfie for good measure).

The final finishing touch from the family was a drawing made by Aunt Jennifer Hodge. It was a drawing of Stephen’s (late) grandfather’s ’77 Chevy Truck with fingerprint “balloons” for a unique and sentimental guest book. When it was time to leave, a limo was not necessary. The couple said their farewells and took their exit in Grandfather’s yellow truck.

From the beginning until the end, the whole event was perfectly focused on the love, joy, and fun that grows when two families unite through marriage. It just couldn’t have been a more perfect example of Mr. and Mrs. Barnes love and commitment to each other.
