We always had October 24, 2020 as our date. We never had to change the date but we did change our venue in July and our guest count. We went from 180 to 55 people. I always wanted my wedding in a ballroom but we ended up deciding to do our reception outside so that people would feel safer (if weather allowed). We planned everything for the outside area. We also did not do a cocktail hour. On the day of our wedding, the weather forced us inside which ended up being absolutely amazing because the ballroom was big enough to fit over 200 people and we only had 55 and I got my dream wedding in a grand ballroom.
The day will take on a life of its own. You can try as hard as you can to plan and control every little detail, but no matter what happens, it will be perfect because it’s yours – and everyone is there for you. The day will go by so fast; try to find some moments to look around and take it all in.
I had floral bouquets for all the girls walking down the aisle and myself as well. Flowers for the chuppah and centerpieces along with a greenery wall which hung our last name neon sign.
Every detail was personalized… welcome boxes with mints inside that said “mint to be” labels for water bottles in the welcome boxes, bar napkins, party favors, donuts, personalized glow sticks, pictures of all our grandparents weddings, personalized masks and hand sanitizers, pictures from our engagement shoot, guest book, saxophone player, these details made a small intimate wedding feel so much like I was getting the day I always dreamt of.
I looked for weeks for my wedding dress. Once I found the Pronovias Nereid gown i knew it was the one to beat. I went to about 7 stores after and never found another one i liked better. I went back and bought that gown and I wish I could wear it everyday Adam ordered a custom suit from state and liberty. He absolutely loved his tux because the company makes super comfortable suits and tuxes that have some stretch to them; unlike a typical tux. He looked incredible!
Me and Adam met online in 2016- I still have it in my calendar on my phone. I knew he was the one from the moment i met him. He proposed in October 2019 in our home. He made an aisle out of candles and rose pedals and it led to a sign that said “Marry Me” – the house was dark and all that was lit was the sign and the candles. I walked in from work and had no idea. I was shaking as I walked down the “aisle” to the love of my life where he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was intimate and beautiful and i loved that it was in our home just the two of us. We celebrated with friends and family that weekend.
I thought about the moment I would walk down the aisle for years. Once we got engaged i would listen to the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to while I was in my car and picture myself and that moment every time. That to me was the most special moment. It turned out to be one of my favorites that day!
We had a very atypical wedding experience since we had our wedding during a pandemic. We decided not to postpone and just limited our guest count. A wedding normally is very stressful and comes with drama sometimes but this took it to a whole other level. It was very hard at times but It turned out perfect. It really did. Even with everything going on we had the most incredible wedding weekend. Everyone told me the day would go fast but I didn’t realize how fast. I would say no matter how many things seem stressful before the day just know on that day it will work out – it really will- everything just seems to fall into place… take deep breaths and take in the moments. Watching my video back i saw myself taking a deep breath and I laughed because I remembered to breath 🙂
