Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?
I LOVE the Dairy Barn and I really wanted its beauty to shine through in the ceremony. The dark wooded gambrel roof was one of my favorite parts of the ceremony.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
The florals were absolutely gorgeous!! The arbors over the entrance and at the alter were breathtaking. The flowers were neutral colors with lots of greenery which popped. Also, the arrangement at the main bar was in a HUGE vase and everyone came up to me to say how beautiful it was.
Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We had a food truck at the end of the night and we sent everyone home with a cookbook we created with all of the food we served at the wedding. The band was INCREDIBLE they were full of life, engaging, brought people on stage and were the best band I have ever seen!
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
We actually met at a NASCAR race through mutual friends. We aren’t frequent goers of NASCAR so it truly shows you can meet someone anywhere! He proposed at my parent’s lake house (my favorite place in the world) and had his brothers and my sister hiding in the house to take pictures and congratulate us. I had no idea they were there! Then we went back to my parent’s house for another surprise where our friends and both set of parents were waiting to give us big hugs!
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
I think the First dance, Father-Daughter Dance and Mother-Son Dance were all very special to all 4 of us. As nervous as we were we all agreed that as soon as you got on the dance floor the rest of the room melted away and 200 people were no longer staring at you.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Remember that everyone is there to celebrate you and your partner’s love and they want you to have the best day of your life. Something may go wrong but that’s okay because at the end of the day you will be married and in your love’s arms surrounded by family and friends.
