Well, here it is! The second inspiration shoot from our amazing, crazy, whirlwind-of-a-day in Colorado. We went from shooting in the morning at Red Rocks Park to capturing the sunset in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains surrounding Piney River Ranch in Vail, Colorado. Needless to say, it was an adventure! The drive alone was 2 plus hours and that didn’t even include the unexpected 45 minute off-roading that we had to undertake at the end of our journey in order to reach the venue. I’m not proud to admit it, but our tight schedule barely left me with enough time to grab some chicken nuggets from McDonalds in between shoots!

After already completing one boho inspiration shoot that day, traveling several hours and not making the best food decisions, our team was still awestruck when we arrived at our destination. The place was GORGEOUS! You don’t have to take my word for it, you’ll see soon enough. Piney River Ranch is unlike any mountain venue I’ve ever been to and once again I have the coordination-genius, Melinda Mavers of The Ivory Swan to thank for setting us up with this location. It was like something out of The Sound of Music!

And as if the scenery wasn’t enough, the sunset was nothing short of epic! Truth be told, the sun was a bit shy that day; it didn’t pop out until after we had finished shooting on the lake with the canoes… that’s right, there was a lake… and canoes, which made for some seriously amazing photography! After this full day of shooting and travel my only regret was that I didn’t have more time to stay and enjoy the scenic beauty of that place. Eventually, I plan on going back to enjoy some authentic Rocky Mountain camping!
