The inspiration for this shoot was born after weeks of obssessing over California wedding aesthetics… that’s when I reached out to Cindy and Emily to bring this vision to life. I wanted to bring a little bit of a Palm Springs vibe to the southern state of Arkansas. 21c Museum Hotel was the perfect backdrop for this shoot.

In an area where 9 out of 10 venues are barns, 21c was a breath of fresh air and an aesthetic match for what I was trying to achieve. In typical Arkansas weather fashion, it was pouring on a day that was supposed to be sunny and warm, so we had to move our reception setting indoors to one of the galleries. For decor, I incorporated lot of natural elements such as wood, rock slabs for the name cards and airplane napkin rings; mixed with cut crystal, a macrame backdrop and chair sashes, and an aged stone style cake with sugar flowers. The clay pot for the centerpiece ties back to the California feel paired with the choice of florals and a coral runner. One of the things I wanted to highlight that was different or unusual was the entertainment options for guests. In this shoot, I decided to showcase Jean, a Tarot reader. The getaway car of choice was a 1956 Thunderbird which added to the cool modern feel of the shoot.
