From the Photographer

The 1920’s meets 2020 at a historical venue in Anderson, South Carolina. This styled shoot is hosted in the upper parlor of The Marshall Orr House. Also known as “Little Arlington”, it was built in 1883 and was a private home until 1973 when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the perfect place for a smaller, more intimate wedding without losing the grandness of a huge ballroom.

We wanted to combine the luxury of the 1920s with the moody modern styles of today for fall 2020 wedding inspiration. The art deco design of the Vera dress by Desiree Hartsock Bridal was the inspiration for this shoot. When we think of the opulence of the 1920s we think of lots of textures and sequins. However, we wanted to move away from sequins and use fur and velvet to modernize the iconic 1920s. To create the dark and moody style, we used black velvet and deep burgundy linens with gold, blush, and grey accents.

There may be a little Game of Thrones vibes thrown in for good measure!
