Welcome to the first glimpse of Sweeney Barn in Manassas, Virginia! Sweeney Barn opened its doors to the community at the beginning of this year. Once a working dairy barn, it was rediscovered and repurposed into a wedding venue. The floor plan offers a variety of spaces for couples to use during their big day. The upstairs was converted from a hay loft to a reception space and is now complete with soaring ceilings and sparkling chandeliers lining the center rafters. The downstairs has clean white walls and whimsical tulle draped across the ceiling.

Our color palette was comprised of classic winter colors, navy and burgundy. We warmed up the scene with small touches of blush and gold. The paper suite, designed by Danielle Antol of Rock Paper Scissors was adorned with florals and a hand drawn rendering of Sweeney Barn. The suite included a bar sign that presented the bride and groom’s signature drinks, each of which contained whiskey or gin from K.O. Distilling, a local distillery.

Susana, the owner of Vivid Bridal Boutique had the perfect gown in mind that screamed winter princess. The Theia Couture boatneck bridal gown had beautifully beaded detail throughout the sheer bodice with sleeves that led to flowing chiffon that embodied the romanticism of winter. Our florist, Laura with Buttercups Florals, created a timeless bridal bouquet containing blush roses interspersed with blue thistle and berries and a smooth satin ribbon to tie it all together. The bridal look was completed with a simple, romantic updo by Nia of Magnificent Mane and natural makeup with blush undertones by Faryal of Beauty by Fary K.

Small details glistened, like the gold flatware and chargers from C&G Rentals on the dinner tables, the vintage gold candlesticks from Blue Ridge Vintage Rentals that lined the front of the sweetheart table, and the elegant gold calligraphy scripted by Jodi Macfarlan that dawned the place cards. While the guest tables boasted rich navy tablecloths, the sweetheart table was serene with a champagne linen to maintain the classy warmth of the bride and groom. Sprinkle Spark Cakes crafted a three-tiered navy cake with gold accents and colorful edible florals. The shoot is made timeless by its elegance and simplicity, but remains unique in its intricate detail that showcases the beauty of the couple and the venue.
