From the Photographer

What’s on-trend is always the big question in the wedding industry, what we would love to be asked is what are you loving right now in your industry? Just because something is trending doesn’t mean it’s your favorite thing in the world. In a world where weddings are our everyday life, we wanted to create an inspirational bridal shoot for an adventurous bride who isn’t afraid to create a fun and unique experience of their own.

First and foremost, we absolutely believe that your location is the most important factor in a wedding and you can create a destination experience for your guests. You can have unique photo opportunities as well as fun traveling to seeing what history or nature landscapes there are in that destined area. Our shoot featured a fun cliff near the water for a unique view and experience that wasn’t filled with sand. But we did get the bonus of saying “Hi” up close to a paragliding! We encourage couples to have their engagement photos at their destined wedding location town or region, to get comfortable with the area and scope out some fun things to do or visit.

Once our destination has been locked down, we wanted to bring in the design element starting with invitations and stationery. As a certified wedding planner with Minted.com, we had fun selecting different sample varieties to highlight and showcase. We went with a clean modern look, however, you can commission a Minted Designer to create custom maps, images, perhaps a drawing of the building architecture or a bloom that represents the feel of your wedding day. By working with a certified planner, you can see first hand in their Minted sample binder the feel of different paper styles, all of the stationery items and options there are as well as what it looks like to have them print out all of the wedding attendees addresses for you!

So after location, photographer and invites have been chosen couples will need to decide on the menu and what decisions they need to make on food and beverage, we encourage to select something fun and native to where you are traveling or something more seasonal based to heighten that you are having a spring, summer, winter or fall event. Also, something to consider and provide information on are room blocks, transportation, and rsvp details. All of these can be included in your invites as an insert or included on your wedding website, which you also can do thru Minted.com.

Moving to the fun details of design from the invitations, we wanted to create a modern beach vibe from the Bride’s flowing Lucas gown by Elizabeth Dye, floral with some flash accessories, a shawl and beach hat for a sophisticated and fun style! The ceremony features a copper arbor with metallic varied palms, blonde pampas grasses, bleached ruskus and bunny tail grasses with white, blush and sandy hued roses, dahlias and lisianthus blooms with eucalyptus and mixed greenery touches added with the European bridal bouquet and dog collar to match! The table setting plays off the natural and relaxed bayfront vibes features china from At Home stores party ware + kitchen china line and romantic centerpieces to match the product and vibes in this design style.

When planning and dreaming up a wedding, explore a unique feature that truly speaks to you even if you haven’t seen it all over Pinterest! You may be pleasantly surprised to realize that you’ve created a unique idea if you can’t find an image online of what you are envisioning. Have fun, enjoy this once in a lifetime process and be thoughtful of the type of wedding day you want to create for the beginning of the rest of your life together!
