Dripping Springs, Texas
I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of this whimsical wedding shoot during the Southern Love Workshop in Austin, Texas, which is a workshop styled weekend for photographers. It’s a place where we can come to learn, connect, grow, and be inspired. And let me tell you — I learned, grew, connected, and was SO inspired!
This whimsical wedding shoot is the first of three different shoots from the Southern Love Workshop and they turned out extremely amazing! I had the privilege of working with some of the most talented vendors who made this shoot stunning and unforgettable! I never cease to be amazed at just how many talented creatives there are out there. From florists to event planners, stationery designers to cake decorators — there is so much talent in this industry!
The creative inspiration was aimed at doing a fun, spring, modern, clean and colorful photoshoot. The “all greenery” look is classic, but we were looking for a more fresh and colorful palette. Muted pastels, bright reds and oranges, soft neutrals, and sprigs of greenery — Gypsy Floral did a STUNNING job with the flowers.
Ana and Coleman were a dream to shoot. They were the perfect fit for this whimsical wedding shoot and they only added to what we were going for. Not only were they naturals on camera, but their love was a beautiful sight to capture.
I can’t wait to show you the rest of the styled shoots we did at the Southern Love Workshop in the months to come. I learned so much and was so inspired to create on a whole new level!
FROM BIG TIME CREATIVES (THE PLANNER & DESIGNER): We wanted to do a fun Spring, modern, clean and colorful shoot. we were tired of the “all greenery” look and aimed for a fresh and colorful palette.
FROM GYSPY FLORAL (FLORIST): Let’s focus on the tablescape elements for a second! We had this vision to do a Wes Anderson themed table. We started with contemporary elements like the acrylic stands to give some dimension and then added in the pastel funky budvases with the HUGE colorful locally grown poppies. Shout out to Grassdale Farms btw, Gretchen grows the most beautiful blooms and we asked her to set aside several bunches just for this table.
FROM GYSPY FLORAL (FLORIST): When we were designing the arbor we decided to leave the chicken wire exposed to give a raw, edgy feel amongst the softness of the painted baby’s breath, which makes a subtle swirl around the arbor. We also added color-blocked elements here (see attached image)
FROM BIG TIME CREATIVES (THE PLANNER & DESIGNER): Light, airy, clean and modern. I chose complimentary looks to fit this spring shoot. That dress with the pockets and modern styling started the look and feel of the shoot.
