From the photographer… I love the idea of incorporating animals on a wedding day, and just had to jump at the opportunity to photograph a beautiful bridal styled shoot that involves my Siberian Husky, Maggie, in the winter! Winter in Connecticut doesn’t always mean snow! For this shoot, I wanted to bring out the rich tones of the forest but with pops of color to brighten it up. Maggie is a 2.5 year old bi-eyed Husky (one eye is blue and the other amber), which is very unique and we wanted to highlight her with Suzanna. The two of them really connected during the shoot and it was so much fun to watch them bond throughout the day!

We hope this shoot can give brides inspiration for something outside the norm when it comes to a wedding dress. Most of all, we hope that brides and grooms are inspired to incorporate their animals into their wedding day! After all, our animals are like our family and there’s nothing more special than celebrating your day with your family… whether human or furry!

If there is one tip we can give brides and grooms, it’s to make sure you put any florals you have on your dogs at the last second (as they may be tempted to rip them off or play with them), to have someone assigned to assist in making sure the dog is safe and doesn’t run away, but, most of all, someone to make sure they don’t eat the florals as some florals can be poisonous to your furry children.
