I have so many couples this year that are very near and dear to my heart and this is yet another one. When we did Chase and Trista’s engagement photos, that was actually the first time I had met them. So they are not near and dear to me because of a long history of friendship, or times together. They are near and dear for a rather unique reason. This May, I completed my secondary education degree, and spent my last semester doing my student teaching. I had the privilege of doing my student teaching with Gail, Chase’s mom, which is why this couple is special to me. I spent every day for 4 months with Gail and heard a lot about Chase and Trista, learning all about them and hearing about the wedding planning. So going into their engagement session I felt like I had known them for such a long time. What Gail did not tell me was just how perfect these two are together and how dang photogenic they are. Seriously what a dream. But there is so much more to Chase and Trista then their model skills. They are seriously the sweetest couple, with this radiation of love for each other. You can see just how much they love each other by not only the way they look at each other but the way they interact with each other. Trista constantly laughing and Chase smiling ear to ear. The way Chase is so gentle and so loving when he pulls Trista close. The way Trista just fits right into his arms. Seriously I never say the word swoon but this is some swoon worthy love!
Besides the fact that literally they are a photographers dream, they also have a really awesome story. Both of them were set up by their sisters, and first met at the Tincaps. Hence why we decided to do their engagement photos at the Tincaps. But that is not the best part of the story, the best is when they got engaged. They took a trip to Universal Studio’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. They both love Harry Potter so it obviously seemed like the perfect place to propose. But the thoughtfulness on Chase’s end didn’t stop there. He knew he wanted to go big. He proposed by giving Trista her very own wand, which was holding the ring. But if you thought that was cute just wait. Chase actually spend countless hours hand carving this wand. That’s right, he literally made the wand that he gave to Trista. As a Harry Potter lover I have to say Chase couldn’t of nailed it any better if he tried. Seriously the thoughtfulness in their proposal is unreal and seriously so sweet.
