Working Full Time AND Planning a Wedding?

Congratulations… you’re getting married!

Wedding planning can seem overwhelming, especially if you’re trying to work a full time job on top of it. Flowers… Food… Guest List… Music… Gown… Shoes… Whew! It’s too much to do by yourself! Just the thought of all these responsibilities can tempt you to sneak in a little planning time between business meetings or conference calls. You need a wedding planner in your life… stat!

So how do you stay on top of your game at work while planning your dream wedding?

  • Use Your Time Wisely
You’re engaged… enjoy it! The earlier you start the planning process, the better. Consider the prime times for weddings in your area. Vendors get booked up fast so determine your needs, choose your vendors and book them! Their calendars fill up quickly and you want to make sure you’re able to go with your first choice. Set realistic goals and make the most out of your workday. Oh and I’ll say it again… HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER!

  • Be Organized

Make a list of your priorities. You make lists all day every day at the office so make them for your wedding too! Decide what is most important to you and your partner and tackle those things first! Keep a binder of all your inspiration photos, contracts, meetings and more. The two of you should also discuss your finances… both at home and for your wedding. Will you be paying for your wedding all yourselves or will you have some help? By addressing these issues at the beginning, you’ll avoid this stress at work and it will allow you to focus on the tasks in front of you.

  • Relax

R.E.L.A.X! This is one of the most exciting times of your life and you need to enjoy it! Go to a yoga class or Pilates. I just started doing Pilates and I LOVE it! It is the best workout ever… be aware… you’ll feel like you got run over by a truck the next day but it feels soooooo good! Live your best life and have fun! Oh and you could relax a lot more if you hired a wedding planner 😉

  • Spend The Day With Your Partner

Always remember why the two of you fell in love. Take a break and go workout, go see a show, a movie, grab a bite to eat, whatever. Just spend time together and remember what’s important in life. A solid foundation will set you up for a successful relationship, not only with your partner but at work as well.
